Physical Therapy Assistant Job Description
Physical therapy assistants conduct their services under the supervision and instruction of a certified physical therapist. PTs rely greatly on their PT assistants, so it is crucial that a PTA can offer patients a complete plan of physical therapy exercises. PTAs employ many physical therapy methods while looking after patients. Several methods consist of deep soft tissue massage, therapeutic exercise, physical modalities particularly ultrasound and electrotherapy as well as functional training.
Furthermore PTAs often assist their patients to prevent losing mobility by applying health and physical fitness programs for more active healthier lifestyles. When a Physical therapy assistant examines a client for the first time, the PTA helps the PT analyze the individual and create a treatment plan encouraging recovered functions, being able to move, preventing disability and pain reduction. Then, together as a team, the PT, Physical therapy assistant, and patient each work together to make certain the goals of the therapy plan is attained, measuring patient progression, reaction, and safety even while making modifications as needed.
