WOW #6: Plank Core and Ab Workout

Work Out Wednesday #6 – Plank Core & Ab Exercise

Plank and core workouts are some of the most important exercises to perform to keep healthy and fit. They also do not require equipment and can be done anytime anywhere. So, you really shouldn’t have any excuse for not keeping up with your plank and core workouts. When I use to travel as a consultant I would always do my core workouts which consisted of planking in my hotel room quite often.

Planks not only workout your abs, they strengthen your shoulders, back, and legs as well. Planks are great for all types of athletes and anyone looking to stay fit and healthy.

How to plank properly

Fitness expert Scott Herman shows us how to do a plank properly.

This video goes through a series of plank variations creating a complete plank core workout.

For athletes and anyone looking to stay fit and healthy, planks are a great workout to keep your entire body strong. Physical therapy assistants should teach their patients how to properly perform planks to avoid injury and promote strength and flexibility.

Have you tried planks? Do you tell your therapy patients to do planks? If so, tell us about it in the comments below! 🙂
