Physical Therapy Assistant Job Summary
Physical therapy assistants conduct their tasks under the guidance and instruction of a certified physical therapist. PTs rely heavily on their Physical therapist assistants, so it's necessary that a Physical therapist assistant can offer clients a complete plan of physical therapy techniques. Physical therapist assistants apply numerous physical therapy methods while looking after clients. Some techniques consist of deep tissue massage, therapeutic exercise, physical modalities particularly ultrasound and electro therapy as well as functional exercises.
In addition PT assistants regularly aid their clients to prevent losing movement by establishing health and physical fitness workouts to enable more active life styles. Anytime a Physical therapy assistant sees an individual for the first time, they help the PT examine the individual and develop a treatment plan supporting restored functionality, the ability to move, avoiding impairment and reducing discomfort. Then, as a team, the physical therapist, PTA, and client each work collectively to make sure the purpose of the therapy program is reached, measuring client progress, response, and well-being while making adjustments as required.
