Physical Therapist Assistant Job Outline
PT assistants perform their services beneath the guidance and instruction of a certified physical therapist. Physical therapists rely heavily on their PT assistants, so it is important that a PTA can offer patients a comprehensive plan of physical therapy exercises. PTAs apply many physical therapy methods while looking after patients. Certain methods include physical modalities, deep soft tissue massage, therapeutic exercise particularly ultrasound and electro therapy as well as functional exercises.
In addition PT assistants often assist their patients to prevent losing movement by implementing wellness and fitness workouts for more active healthy life styles. When a Physical therapy assistant examines a client initially, the PTA helps the PT study the person and create a therapy program encouraging repaired functions, being able to move, avoiding impairment and reducing pain. Then, as a team, the physical therapist, PTA, and individual all work together to make certain the objective of the therapy program is achieved, measuring client progression, reaction, and safety while making modifications as necessary.
