Physical Therapy Assistant Job Outline
PT assistants perform their functions under the guidance and instruction of a certified physical therapist. Physical therapists rely greatly on their Physical therapist assistants, so it's essential that a Physical therapist assistant can offer patients a complete plan of physical therapy exercises. PT assistants employ many physical therapy techniques while helping patients. Certain techniques include deep tissue massage, exercise therapy, physical modalities such as ultrasound and electrotherapy as well as functional training.
Furthermore PT assistants often aid their clients to avoid losing mobility by applying wellness and physical fitness programs for more active healthier lifestyles. When a Physical therapist assistant examines a client for the first time, they help the physical therapist analyze the person and develop a treatment plan encouraging restored functions, being able to move, avoiding impairment and reducing suffering. Then, together as a team, the physical therapist, PTA, and patient each work with each other to ensure the goals of the therapy program is achieved, calculating patient progress, reaction, and safety even while making adjustments as required.
