California is a large state and so there are many accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Programs in California. Admissions into many California PTA programs will require the successful completion of high school education. Some programs may just require a GED as long as some prerequisite coursework is complete. 2.5 is most often the required GPA for entry into a PTA program in California.

This will include the required hands-on training with a licensed physical therapist, known as clinical experience, clinical practicum, or externship. PTA students can choose to pursue an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree.
